Prospective Projects.
All the below projects are in desperate need of facilities, we do not construct toilets by themselves but together with water tanks. Toilets and water go together. In addition all projects must plant 1,000 trees. If done/planted at the right time of year, most will survive.
All R C Naivasha Projects include the planting of trees. There is also the environment and educational side to this, and generally the children love planting trees. In many areas there is no power, so wood is a general source of fuel. By teaching to plant your own trees and harvest some, we save a little of the environment from destruction.

1). Mirera Primary School, population 2,000 The school needs two sets of toilet blocks and a water tank. 1,000 trees will be planted on the compound. Estimated costs: US$ 3,000
2). Rutere Primary School, is overcrowded by the huge influx of children during the 2008 clashes. The school (population of over 600) is in need of two blocks of toilets and a water tank plus trees, Estimated costs: US$ 6,000
3). Naivasha Central Primary School, Population, 1600 pupils. Needs two toilet blocks and two water tanks plus trees. Estimated costs US$ 6,000
4). Gituamba Secondary School, is in need of 1 large block of toilets and water tank plus tree planting. Estimated costs US$ 5,000
5). School desks, Many schools do not have enough desks for their pupils. The costs of a two person desk for a primary school costs around US$ 20 . A desk for secondary school student costs around US$ 30.
6). Sanitary Towels, a girl from a poor family could miss/add up to two years of senior schooling due to the fact that she/her parents could not afford sanitary towels. The costs or the sanitary pads are US$ 5 per child per year.
9). Libraries, there are virtually no libraries at the schools in and around Naivasha. We are always looking for (second hand) reference books to donate to schools. Withe reference books we mean encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, health books, wildlife/bird books, farming books, etc.
7). Maraigushu Dispensary, Kitchen for maternity wing. The maternity project is in dire need of a kitchen so they can comfortably care for new mothers of the area amongst other people. The construction of a simple kitchen with gas fired units will cost. US$8,000.
